STARA PEKA - Balkan Bread

One of the oldest and most unaltered ways of making bread is to bake it under a baking lid. Traditionally, it is made under a heated iron lid sprinkled with ash. The baking lid was placed in a fireplace or an oven made specifically for this type of baking.

Nowadays, a baking lid is used more and more to make meat, fish, seafood and vegetable dishes and less and less to make bread. Today, people simply do not have time or space to make this delicious and eye-appealing bread.

To bring a fragment of this specially made bread's feel closer to our customers, we have prepared for you the STARA PEKA, a novelty in IREKS's product range. Bread made from STARA PEKA is identical to traditionally prepared bread with respect to its taste and smell, so no difference is detectable. The STARA PEKA is a concentrate for making traditional homemade baking-lid bread, focaccia, bread made in a baking mold, as well as other bakery products having a rustic touch with no additives.
