Poland: Traditional Bread Festival and contest "The best bread"

Once a year, the traditional “Bread Festival” is celebrated in many regions of Poland. In Radom, too: The “12th Bread Festival” took place in the open-air museum there on 5th September 2010.

During this event, bakeries from the region present their specialities, advise customers and offer baked goods for tasting. A diverse general programme makes sure that the festival is increasingly becoming “Family fun with bread“ and is attracting more and more visitors.

As in previous years, IREKS PROKOPOWICZ Sp. z o.o. supported the Bakery Association and the regional bakeries in the organisation of the bread festival.

The Bakery Association appealed to the bakeries in the whole of Poland to take part in the second baking competition “The best bread".

The loaves submitted to the competition were judged by an independent jury in the premises of the training centre of IREKS PROKOPOWICZ Sp. z o.o.. The Polish Health Minister, Ewa Kopacz, and patron of this competition, announced the winner during an official ceremony.

The company which had won first place the previous year was able to defend its title: the bakery WACYN from Radom – a customer of IREKS of many years.
